Oman has launched a "Golden Residency" visa program to attract foreign investors and create a more convenient business environment. The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion introduced the scheme on August 31 to solidify Oman's position as a leading global investment destination. The initiative aims to provide a stable and stimulating business environment, offering high-quality opportunities for long-term growth and stability.

The Golden Visa program offers two tiers based on investment amounts and criteria. Tier 1 requires a minimum investment of 500,000 Omani riyals in a limited liability company, public joint-stock company, government bonds, or property, or establishing a company employing at least 50 Omani nationals, with a 10-year renewable permit and a fee of 551 Omani riyals. Tier 2 requires a minimum investment of 250,000 Omani riyals in a limited liability company, public joint-stock company, or property, with a 5-year renewable permit and a fee of 326 Omani riyals. Expatriate workers residing in Oman can also obtain an Extended Residence permit by demonstrating a fixed monthly income of at least 4000 Omani riyals.
