A lot of people have been asking us: with everything that happened in early 2026, is Dubai still the place to invest? ๐ค
We went straight to the data. The Henley Private Wealth Migration Report 2026 โ the most authoritative annual study on global wealth movement, published just two weeks ago โ gives a clear answer.
The UAE is still the world's #1 destination for millionaire migration. For the fifth year in a row.
Here are the numbers:
๐ฆ๐ช UAE: +9,800 millionaires (2025 actuals)
๐บ๐ธ USA: +7,500
๐ฎ๐น Italy: +3,600
๐จ๐ญ Switzerland: +3,000
๐ธ๐ฆ Saudi Arabia: +2,400
And for 2026? A record 165,000 millionaires are projected to relocate globally โ up 16% from last year.
Now, the honest part about the early 2026 events ๐
Yes, there was a real short-term shock to sentiment. But the Henley report โ which specifically addresses the Gulf conflict โ found that the UAE's structural appeal remained intact. The UAE scored 85.3 out of 100 on their new Wealth Mobility Competitiveness Index, one of the highest scores globally.
Enquiries from UAE-based investors actually went UP by 41% in Q1 2026. Not people leaving โ people adding the UAE to their global portfolio.
"The UAE story in 2026 is one of diversification and optionality, not an exodus."
โ Dominic Volek, Group Head of Private Clients, Henley & Partners
History backs this up too. Every major event that affected the Gulf region since 2003 โ from the Iraq war to COVID โ has ultimately brought more capital into Dubai, not less. Usually within 12โ18 months.
We are not here to paint an unrealistic picture. We are here to share what credible, independent research actually says โ so you can make informed decisions.
