Serendipitous that I am writing the first Goodreads review of "My Life Lessons".
I thoroughly recommend this book:- it is written in plain English, with clear jargon-free terminology, and with simple, definite, practical exercises to increase your own wellbeing.
I met Dieter Langenecker in 2019 or 2020 at a psychology workshop in Vienna shortly before COVID hit the world.
Highly innovative, Dieter, almost immediately, commenced daily online Zoom psychology meetings. So for nearly a year I met Dieter and several others in our online group every evening for what can hopefully be described as intelligent, personal discussions embracing psychology and philosophy. Here I learnt so much about psychology. And many of our group have become good friends.
"My Life Lessons" distills, highlights and summarises the key topics we covered.
While Sigmund Freud, who Dieter's mother knew well, is so world famous, he is in my opinion matched, if not superseded, by Viktor Frankl, whom Dieter met as a University student, and by Carl Jung. Their psychology theories paved the way to Logotherapy, a newer branch of psychology.
If this book sparks a genuine interest, I suggest you also visit Viktor Frankl's cleverly interactive museum in the 9th district of Vienna.
On a personal note, I was delighted to receive this handwritten dedication by Dieter :- "For Franziska,
Whose Kindness, Strength and Presence Light up the Lives of those around her!"
