Last week was one of those special moments that reminded us exactly why we do what we do. 💛
Our beautiful Goldie and August had the opportunity to visit the specialist education centre at the school where, in the future, Seaside Estate Oodles will be gifting one of our puppies to become a support dog. 🐶🐾
Watching the children meet Goldie and August was incredibly moving. The smiles, the excitement, the gentle hands reaching out for a pat, the cuddles and the sheer joy of simply having these beautiful dogs there was so lovely to see.
For children and young people with intellectual disabilities, the companionship of a well-suited support dog can bring so much — comfort, connection, confidence, emotional regulation and a calming presence when the world feels a little overwhelming. Sometimes the connection between a child and a dog needs no words at all. ❤️
And last week, we got a beautiful little glimpse of that magic.
Goldie and August absolutely soaked up all the attention and were so gentle and happy with everyone. Seeing the children’s faces light up when they saw them was just beautiful.
Knowing that one day one of our own Seaside Estate Oodles babies will walk through those doors not just for a visit, but to become part of their school community as a support dog, means more to us than I can put into words.
To raise a puppy who may help a child feel calmer, safer, more connected and simply bring a little extra happiness to their day is one of the greatest gifts we could hope to give.
Last week wasn’t just about two puppies visiting a school.
It was a little glimpse into the difference one very special dog can make. 💛🐾
And we cannot wait for the day when we place that special puppy into this very special school community.
