With all the publicity and excitement this week surrounding the SATC and State Government’s commercial partnership, bringing the Michelin Restaurant Guide to South Australia, it is a timely reminder of how grateful and honoured we were to receive one of the first two Michelin Keys awarded in South Australia as part of Michelin’s global hotel guide expansion.
To then be recognised as an Editor’s Choice in the Pacific region was even more extraordinary. Sometimes, even the smallest places can quietly and independently achieve remarkable things.

In Paris 2025, The Michelin Guide announced its Global Hotel Awards, including Australia. Up, up and away….. The annual chimney clean and maintenance day at Thorngrove means bringing in the Nifty-Lift to reach every detail safely and carefully. Keeping the chimneys clean is not the most glamorous and clean job, but definitely a most important task. Behind the scenes work keeps everything as it should be. A chance to see how the new ridge capping will look. We love it. Just need to wait until spring to install it now.
