Lovely to have artist Dean Bowen and art curator Diane Soumilas stay with us recently!
All rugged up for a walk around our onsite bush trail!

Passionate about all things art, native birds and animals they enjoyed some amazing interactions with locals and wildlife!

Dean has a number of books published on his work and has an active studio and showroom in Melbourne, showcasing his work from printmaking, painting and sculpture.

Our inaugural Writers Residency was held this last week and what a wonderful group of writers!

Hardworking writers, new friends, who also found time to enjoy the beaches, bushwalking, site seeing and local cafes.

We’re inviting up to 4 writers to spend 4–11 September 2026 immersed in the natural beauty of Apollo Bay. This funded, self-guided residency offers emerging and established writers a place of solitude to write, reflect and create in a serene coastal bush setting.

Each writer will enjoy a private bedroom with ensuite, shared kitchen, dining and lounge spaces with writing desks, plus a spacious balcony overlooking bushland, home to wallabies, koalas and abundant native birdlife. An onsite bush trail invites moments of reflection between writing sessions.

• A short introduction about yourself and your area of literature
• Your writing experience

Applications close 16 August 2026, with successful applicants notified by 19 August.
