I'm very sorry to learn of the passing of George Miller, who directed 'The Man from Snowy River'. George was very supportive of and helpful to me during the preparation and shooting of the film. I learnt a great deal from him about acting for the camera.
As a first time feature director on 'Snowy' he was at times under a great deal of pressure, but he once made a promise to me that the movie was called 'The Man from Snowy River' and that's what it was going to be about. He kept that promise and his vision was wonderfully well realised. The movie is still so much loved.
Before the shoot we spent some hours together in the high country in preparation for this iconic photo he shot with his still camera during "magic hour".
I'll always be grateful to George for his fine work in the movie that changed my life.
RIP dear George.

Hi GPC Families (Existing and New!)

We are so excited about our First Rally Day for the Year this Sunday (5th Feb), the grounds have had a mini makeover and is looking fabulous.

Our 2023 Committee are really looking forward to seeing you there, and planned an Awesome Rally Day (for this Sunday and the rest of Term 1!)

The Canteen will be fully stocked with Cookies, Cakes, Party Pies & Sausage Rolls for a yummy Morning Tea which is Complimentary (includes Water and Cordial), with Soft Drinks, Tea & Coffee available to purchase.

We will have helpers on hand first thing to help anyone having trouble with their Just Go Membership Renewal, or to Sign Up (for any New Families).
So look for Lynda Pernice or Alana McKewin when you arrive, as kids will need to be signed up BEFORE they can hop on their ponies.

- Gates will be open from 7.30am
- Gear Check at 8.30am

* Remember that our new Rule for Rally Days - any colour jodhpurs can now be worn on Rally Days (its now ONLY Competition Days for Glenorie, Zone and State etc that the Beige Colour must be worn).
So find your fave colour jodz in your wardrobe and your GPC Polo Shirt & see you Sunday! 😀 (Uniform Shop will be Open In the morning for Riders to purchase the Club Polo Shirts.)

* Don't forget to pack Hats for Non Riders, Water Bottles, and put on some Sunscreen beforehand, as it's meant to be a hot one on Sunday !
