Last week we applied ARDEX Australia WPM 300 prior to self levelling, built to handle reverse hydrostatic pressure so moisture from below doesn’t find its way through. We wet the slab first, then rolled on a prime coat thinned fifteen percent with water, cross hatched east to west, to properly pe*****te the concrete. The main coat went on north to south and we sand seeded into it while it was still wet, then swept and vacuumed once it cured. We used a gauge squeegee throughout to control our coverage, keeping each coat at a hundred and fifty microns for three hundred microns total, going thicker rather than thinner so there’s no pinholes. Once that cured we self levelled over the top with Ardex CL30 for a smooth surface ready for the resilient flooring.
