Success in the West 🌦️

Approximately 1,950 head of Santa Gertrudis and Santa Gertrudis infused cattle were sold at today’s special Santa Gertrudis feature sale at the Blackall Saleyards. Whilst overnight rainfall of up to 40mm in the district meant that many vendors could not attend, it nevertheless translated into a red-hot market with steers cracking the 600c/kg mark.

Winners of the $39,250 in prizes were:

Grand Champion Pen wins a Engel-V80F Fridge & Transit Bag (RRP $2,500) sponsored by the Blackall Livestock Auction Association LTD. Won by Hatton Family Trust, "Powella" Aramac.

Judge Josh Phelps commented "It was a sensational lineup of cattle and it's an absolute pleasure to judge. I think the Blackall area has always been renowned for the cherry red Santa cattle, and today, that was very much justified."

Organised by the Blackall Livestock Auction Association, the sale was held in conjunction with the weekly sale.

We love it when kids are involved as it reflects the good nature and temperament of Diamond H cattle.

Diamond H Santa Gertrudis 2025 EKKA Success 🏆

Diamond H Santa Gertrudis exhibited 3 head winning 3 ribbons and a Junior Champion heifer.

A first for Diamond H genetics in a Royal Show Ring – both Senior and Junior Champion Santa Gertrudis Bulls exhibited sired by Diamond H stud sires.
