If you own strata-titled property like an apartment or townhouse, new strata laws will provide greater support, including for cost-of-living pressures.

Payment plans will soon be able to include levies you have already been charged for, even when the payment date has not yet arrived. This change will help owners experiencing financial difficulty manage their strata payments over time.

NSW Fair Trading will provide guidance to strata communities before key changes begin.

Other changes on the way include:

🚗 Greater rights for owners to install EV charging
🔑 Fairer bonds and fees for things like keys and access swipe cards
🏡 Less admin for two-lot schemes such as duplexes
🏢 Stronger action where building managers fail to meet their duties.

Many of the changes are planned to start in 2027. Together, they will help reduce unnecessary costs and administration to make strata living simpler, fairer and more affordable.

We’ve good news for residents in Wongawilli and surrounds – West Dapto Road will reopen to traffic before Christmas 2026.

While construction has continued either side of the culvert site since the discovery of the microbats – which means more than 86 per cent of works required to reopen the road have been completed – the wrapping up of the microbat exclusion process means works around the impacted stormwater culvert can continue.
