THIS SPACE: PET REFORM IS COMING TO TASMANIA! 🐾

Big news for renters AND landlords - Tasmania is set to roll out new rental laws making it easier for tenants to have pets at home.

Here’s what you need to know:

✨ Tenants will be able to apply to keep a pet
Landlords will have 14 days to respond — if not, it’s automatically approved.

✨ No more blanket “no pets”
Owners can only refuse based on reasonable grounds (think safety, property suitability, strata rules, or genuine risk of damage).

✨ Assistance animals are not considered pets
These remain fully protected.

✨ Still fair for landlords
If a pet causes issues, disputes go straight to TASCAT for a clear, structured decision.

More stability for renters, fewer pets surrendered, and a clearer process for everyone. 🏡
