Congratulations to QShelter for their excellent work on the Go-For-Gold in legacy for for Brisbane 2032 Olympic & Paralympic Games - ‘Brisbane 2032 could set a new standard in legacy for social and economic opportunities’ says housing and homelessness peak body Q Shelter.
‘Our report examines legacy benefits and while there are good examples of legacy in areas such as housing and economic participation, Brisbane could set a new international benchmark for how to ensure a legacy for all’ says Executive Director Fiona Caniglia.
This is a preventative instead of a responsive approach to a growing homelessness problem. The full report can be found here. It will be rolled out across all Qld stakeholders. Please share across your networks.

New housing support hub and advisory group to help older Queensland women access housing. Minister for Communities and Housing Leeanne Enoch today announced the package of support including $8 million to build new homes designed for and by older women and $5.94 million to establish a specialised housing support hub. The Palaszczuk Government is committed to delivering social and affordable housing that meets the needs of older Queensland women. That means building more homes and backing this in with practical support for older women in need of housing certainty.
