Does a big brand really mean better property management⁉️
Recently I took over the management of a newly purchased investment property.
What we found was disappointing.
The property was filthy, belongings had been left behind, the laundry sink was blocked, the toilet leaks, there was soot damage throughout, and apparently there was a tenant vacate inspection completed.
Instead of celebrating their new investment, my landlord is now facing unexpected costs and delays.
I reached out to the previous property manager, not to place blame, but to see if we could work together for the benefit of our mutual client.
I was promised a call back.
Then... silence. 🦗
This isn't about criticising a large agency. There are fantastic property managers in businesses of every size.
It's about challenging the belief that a household name automatically means better service.
When you choose a property manager, you're trusting someone with one of your biggest financial assets. You deserve communication, accountability, and someone who genuinely cares about protecting your investment, not just collecting the rent.
Sometimes, the best service doesn't come from the biggest company. It comes from someone who knows your property, knows your goals, and takes ownership when things don't go to plan.
Don't choose the logo. Choose the property manager.
💬 If you owned an investment property, what would matter more to you: a big brand, or knowing the person managing your investment genuinely had your back?
