NEW BUILD: How many rolls of tape??? 😳🤣

There was a LOT going on with this one. 😂

Blue tape everywhere, questionable finishes, defects stacking up… and a few empty Bundy cans hiding in the roof space for good measure. 🍻

At least we know someone enjoyed the build.

SLUMLORD MILLIONAIRE!? 🤷‍♂️
Mould, moisture, leaks… and it’s all yours for around $800 a week. 😪

But this video is about more than one property.
This is a part of the industry we need to keep talking about.

With the rental market still in high demand and competition for properties so intense, viewing windows are often short and rushed. In some cases, tenants are making decisions quickly just to secure a place to live and sometimes you don’t fully see what you’re really getting until it’s too late.

With the cost of living where it is, rents continuing to hurt and housing availability stretched, people can feel like they have no choice but to accept poorer living conditions simply because they need a roof over their head.
Tenants shouldn't be afraid to raise legitimate concerns about the home they're paying good money to live in.
And when those concerns involve water ingress, persistent dampness, mould or deterioration, they shouldn't simply become something you learn to live with.
There are good landlords and property managers out there doing the right thing.
But where genuine concerns exist, they need to be heard, properly investigated and appropriately addressed.
Sometimes an independent inspection can help put some facts behind what a tenant has been saying all along.
Awareness. Accountability. Better standards.

“at least you've got a roof over your head” shouldn't mean accepting whatever comes underneath it.

BANNED from the roof space!!!... I wonder why 🤔😂

I need a short offsider, andy takers? 😂😂
Being tall definitely doesn't help sneak through these tighter spaces 🤦‍♂️

It is becoming more and more common that builders won't allow inspections to roof spaces. Most allow an inspection from the manhole only.

Soooo, sometimes we go after handover.. and more often than not, we see things just like this.

When the builder says 'DONT' go on the roof' 😬😂

So.. we wait until after handover if we believe there are any items of concern 😂😂.

Sometimes things get missed and these are pretty easy fixes, but I know alot of roofers that would still hate this, especially POST Handover.
