Can’t believe we missed it. 5 May 2023 was the day we started our travels around Oz, what a fabulous adventure we had, the beautiful places we have been, and the people we met.
Whilst we are currently camped in bricks and mortar and only doing short trips, we are talking about, and making plans to pack up and go again. Stay tuned.

Uralla NSW, between Tamworth and Armidale. Famous for being the burial site of ‘Thunderbolt’.

Fred Ward, the infamous Captain Thunderbolt - the longest roaming bushranger in Australian history.

On 25 May 1870, after allegedly robbing travellers near the Big Rock, Ward was shot and killed by Constable Alexander Binney Walker at Kentucky Creek near Uralla. His capture and death followed a difficult pursuit of several miles through rough terrain

Being so close to home, Uralla is somewhere we have been a few times for a delicious brunch, and also a drive through on the way over to Coffs.

Today we took a drive up for lunch, and then did a bit of a walk around and drive, to take some touristy snaps.

Lunch at The Alternate Root, always delicious and always busy.

Our last night in Griffith. We went to La Scala Italian 🇮🇹 Restaurant. It was beautiful.

It was a made a bit special for us because the lady that went through our wine tasting from Calabria Wines was there with her hubby and she came up and spoke to us. Made us feel special.

La Scala was absolute delicious. The food was amazing and the service was spot on.

We leave tomorrow with great memories of Griffith and will definitely be back.
