So very proud of this young lady!

I had the pleasure of meeting Izzy Preston in 2024 when she was the recipient of the Top of the Range Meat Co Internship, offered by my late husband Jason Siddell and I.

Izzy was lucky enough to spend some quality time with Jason just prior to his passing, learning about our Angus stud Fig Tree Park Angus and meat judging at Top of the Range Meat Company.

She has taken off from there, going from strength to strength within the industry. It’s a pleasure to have her come and lead cattle for us at local shows, and I’m so proud to watch her progress.

I look forward to attending the Tocal Beef Cattle Assessment Course with her later in the year, no doubt she’ll be teaching me a thing or two!

My name is Isabelle Preston, and I am a first-year student at the University of New England in Armidale. Currently, I am studying Rural Science with a major in genetics.

I do not come from a farming background; however, I have completed work experience at Waverley Station, King Island, and Fig Tree Park Angus. My interest and passion for meat judging has developed since completing work experience at a butcher’s shop.

My goal is to gain as much experience and knowledge as I can so that, in the future, I can become a leader in the beef industry.

21 of the old girls took their last trip up this laneway yesterday. Hopefully on their way to greener pastures 🤞🏼 Send it down Huey. We’re waiting.

A chance to secure some excellent breeding females with the option to retain registration status.

Seasonal conditions have forced my hand, I would love to see these girls live on under someone else’s care.

Proud to support Angus Youth Australia once again, this year with the Jason Siddell Memorial Trophy for the Grand Champion Meat Judge 🥩

It was great to see the evolution of meat judging into the main programme at this year’s Roundup with a focus on education as well as judging.

At the end of the day we as stud breeders are aiming to produce articles for our clients that will ultimately go on to breed or produce the beef we eat at our table 🍽️

Jason was very passionate about the beef industry and it’s a privilege to be able to honour his memory through this award.

Congratulations to Jazmin and all the place-getters!

✨ 2026 Angus Youth Roundup ✨

What a way to kick-start the New Year! Four big days - workshops, parading cattle and learning about the Angus Breed 🐂🔥

Legacy Angus was proud to return with our two heifers from last year with their first calves at foot! We also took two steers freshly broken in by Chloe Looker with assistance from .bailey2201 who joined our team this year.

We were stoked to be able to lend our steers to two outstanding young participants — .brooks01 from the Northern Territory 🌵and from Tasmania 🌊 These two girls were incredible and we were so lucky to have them as a part of our team!

I was so proud to witness the dedication, attitude, and stockmanship of these four young ladies who are a credit to themselves, their families, and an absolute asset to the Angus breed. They should be more than proud of themselves. The future of the cattle industry is strong in their hands 💪🏼
