Richard Jensen’s project has reached completion! And it has proven quite delicious….

22mo Purebred Speckle Park steer purchased last year from Wytara Valley Speckle Park, then backgrounded and finished on grain.

A bit of an experience for me, the home kill process. I’m used to dropping them off and then picking up the meat packs. 🤣

Where are all my old wives’ tale people at? 😂

So… does this mean the full sib to Wee Man is FINALLY going to be my first non-freemartin heifer — which, naturally, means she’ll be the one I can’t retain? 😭

And both my first Dude babies are going to be bulls? 😂😭

For reference: cow on the right has the straight tail switch, the other two are curly 👀

We’re very proud of Wee Man (FAI W02) for bringing home a third place ribbon in a very strong field of 8 competitors at the Gatton Show. Wee Man was the youngest ribbon winner in his class of under 12 months! 🎉

Dude (FAI W01) brought home a second place ribbon, standing second to the Junior Champion bull.

Both Wee Man and Wayfarer (FAI W03) did great for their first outing!

As anyone who has ever seen Dude at a show knows, his favourite part of showing is going home. He definitely took out the top prize for re-loading on the trailer to get out of there! 🤣 One day I will remember to get a video.
