Additionally, adaptive lighting controls and strategically directing lights away from the beachfront will further minimise skyglow from our project.

From fresh fish to fruit, flowers and fabulous arts and crafts, this weekly event at at Bill Fraser Park is always fun for both Hervey Bay residents and visitors. 🐟🍎💐

Imagine how many big spending international tourists will drop in here once Torquay has its own luxury 5-star hotel just a three-minute walk away. What a great opportunity for local traders and artisans!

In case you missed it, an updated economic impact report on our plans for a Sheraton resort in Hervey Bay found local industry would gain a direct injection of $343 million from this project, while a total of 1,770 jobs would be created.

Locals, residents and the tourism industry are all winners from the latest upgrade to Hervey Bay Airport! ✈️

The increase in departure lounge seating from 160 to 250 is a welcome development, especially since there were almost 20,000 more passengers through the airport in 2023-24 and Jetstar is now flying in from Melbourne.

We'll be making our own big contribution to tourism and the regional economy with more than 220 new 5-star hotel rooms included in our plans. 🏨

👍 It's great to see progress in our community, such as the recent opening of the Boundary Road extension - making east-west travel easier and taking the pressure off Boat Harbour Drive.

Planned since the early 1980s, the completion of this new section of road is exactly the type of infrastructure Hervey Bay needs to support our forecast population growth. Well done to Fraser Coast Regional Council.

A Fraser Coast Councillor told the recent Council meeting to approve our project that 99% of people who contacted them were positive about our project.

The Fraser Coast Regional Council has today approved our plans for a world-class resort and apartments project on the Hervey Bay foreshore.

We thank the local community for their support and welcome this approval as the trigger for a major economic, employment and social boost for the Fraser Coast region.

In response to community feedback, we have voluntarily agreed to reduce the project height from 21 storeys to 18 storeys.

We thank Councillors for listening to the community, recognising the huge benefits that will flow from this project, and having the faith in us to deliver a world-class outcome for Hervey Bay.

We also extend our deepest appreciation to Hervey Bay residents and the wider Fraser Coast community for their incredible support for a Sheraton Resort Hervey Bay.

While we understand and appreciate that not everyone was in favour of this proposal, we are very grateful for the overwhelming feedback received and thank everyone for their interest in the project and their willingness to participate in the discussion.

There is no doubt the Sheraton Resort Hervey Bay will be a catalyst for continued growth and progress that will ensure a more sustainable and prosperous future for the Bay.

We are committed to seeing this project through and creating a landmark development that will put our region on the world stage today and for future generations.

We are delighted to announce an endorsement of our project by Kingfisher Bay Resort General Manager David Hay. 👍

David says the arrival of Sheraton would take the Fraser Coast region to the next level, filling a gap in the 5-star market and creating momentum for other attractions and businesses.

"This economy has some challenges," he says. "We do have an ageing population, we don't have enough employment, we don't have enough opportunity for people, so I think having a different demographic living and staying at the Fraser Coast will change things."

This endorsement from the largest single tourism operation currently in the region is a huge step forward for our plans!
