Today we held our ‘Standing Together’ meeting at our beautiful Mount Gravatt Active kids centre.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Billie Musk a Yugambeh woman and the founder of Billie Musk Indigenous Consultancy. Providing our team with Cultural safety training, and immersive "Walk on Country" program. This program will support and help our services to respectfully embed First Nations perspectives into their curriculum and everyday practice.

Thank you for this amazing opportunity, we looking forward to continuing our company journey, Standing Together in Reconciliation and Building Culturally Competent Educators.

😊 Exploring Emotions in Kindy 😊
Our kindy children have been busy learning all about emotions through discussions, games, and creative activities. Together, we explore different feelings such as happiness, sadness, excitement, frustration, and kindness, while learning ways to recognise and express them in healthy and positive ways.
Through play-based experiences, the children practiced identifying emotions in themselves and others, building empathy, confidence, and important social skills. It has been wonderful to see them sharing their thoughts, supporting their friends, and developing a deeper understanding of how feelings help us connect with one another.
We are so proud of our little learners as they continue to grow emotionally and socially every day! 💛

Today, the children immersed themselves in imaginative play as they transformed recycled boxes into a busy shopping experience! Using their creativity, they pretended to buy and sell groceries, take orders, and serve customers.
Through this engaging activity, the children developed their communication, social, and problem-solving skills while learning about everyday community roles. They worked together, shared ideas, and used their imaginations to create their own shop environment.
Using recycled materials not only encourages creativity but also helps children learn about sustainability and the many ways everyday items can be reused. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they explored, negotiated roles, and brought their shopping adventures to life!

Today, our toddlers gathered together to enjoy a beautiful Dreamtime story read by their educator. The children listened with curiosity, explored the pictures, and engaged with the story through simple conversations and gestures.
Storytelling experiences like this help support language development, listening skills, and an early appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. The toddlers showed great interest as they learned about the characters, animals, and messages within the story. Even exploring the books on their own.
We love providing opportunities for our youngest learners to connect with culture, stories, and the world around them in meaningful and age-appropriate ways. ❤️🖤💛
