We’re Sarah and Dean 👋. And other than being married, we are an incredible team. In life and in business.

Dean does the inspections. Nearly 20 years building homes before he ever inspected one. The building inspection industry isn’t regulated the way it should be, so experience matters more than most people realise. I know he’s my husband, but honestly, he is just really bloody good at what he does. I back him 1000%.

I run everything else. The business, the marketing, the networking, the bookings, the calls. Basically, I keep him employed. 😂

We’ve given up a lot to be here. No plan B, no safety net, just two people who back each other completely and have gone all in.

We’re not just building a business. We’re building something our family can be proud of. A brand and a reputation people can trust with the biggest purchase of their lives.

Renovated bathroom. Looks great. New tiles, fresh fittings. Easy to walk in and think, no work needed here.

Dean looked at the waterproofing and it wasn’t right. So he had a look under the house. And there it was. Shower leaking straight underneath.

A renovation doesn’t mean it was done properly. It just means it looks like it was.

This has to be fixed. You can’t live with this. And that’s before you even know what it’s going to cost.
Is it in your budget? That’s the question a building and pest inspection helps you answer before you buy, not after.

This is one I went back and forth on posting. Still a bit baffled...

We were asked to keep quiet around our own client at an inspection. Do the job, say nothing, let them read the report later.

We understand the pressure everyone’s under right now. It’s not an easy market right now, for anyone, agents don’t want to lose buyers, and everyone’s got a job to do. But our agreement is with the client. They hired us, so they’re who we answer to.

That’s our job. Due diligence for the person buying. A nervous first home buyer is about to put most of their income into a home for years to come, and they deserve to know exactly what they’re walking into. Not just whether it’s nice, but whether they can afford it once you factor in any work it needs.

We’re not here to scare anyone. If a place is right for our client, great. If it isn’t, that’s their call to make, with all the facts in front of them.

If you’re buying a home, know that we’re for you. And we’ll always do right by you.

Even if a property already has a vendor’s building and pest report, it’s still worth getting your own.

Do your due diligence before you buy, and that includes researching your own inspector. Not all inspectors are the same, and this is your biggest purchase, so you want a good one in your corner.

An independent pre-purchase building and pest inspection means someone you’ve chosen, who you trust, looking at the property for you.

We call Thursdays our baby Friday.

Most weeks we grab a wine and a beer at our local Bo Gurks and just download. What happened this week, what’s coming next, the bits we need to sort and where we’re taking the business.

Between the kids and the jobs, it’s about the only time we properly stop and talk about growth, and it’s such an important thing for us to do.

It’s a good little thing we’ve got.

Some days this job just fills your cup. 😍🧡

Yesterday the loveliest messages came through from a couple we helped this week. Some sent straight to us, and one they’d sent to their conveyancer, who kindly passed it on.

Dean took them through the inspection in person, walking them around the property and showing them exactly what he was seeing.

When our clients and the people who refer us say things like this, it genuinely means the world to us and to what we’re building. This is everything to us. We have no plan B 🤪

When someone refers you, they’re putting their own reputation on the line too, so we feel a real responsibility to do right by them, not just the client in front of us.

We just want to do good work for good people. Days like this tell us we’re on the right track 👊💃🏼🕺🏼

This apartment has some serious cracking. Someone patched over it, but that hasn’t fixed anything. The problem is still there, and still moving.

This is exactly why you get a pre-purchase building and pest inspection, even on an apartment. You need to know what you’re buying into before you sign, not after.
