We are thrilled to see Shelley Spencer-Mackrell named a FINALIST in the 2026 HIA Tasmania Awards, in the Building Women category for Professional Service Excellence.

For more than a decade, Shelley has worked quietly behind the scenes at Mackrell Building, helping shape the business into what it is today. She has been a steady and often unseen influence, building our brand, strengthening our marketing presence and driving our communications and administration.

As our Communications, Marketing and Administration Manager, Shelley has balanced her role at Mackrell Building, while she built a successful real estate career and most importantly, being a mum and wife.

Women are so often the quiet back-bone of businesses within the construction industry. Their contribution may not always be visible on site, but behind the scenes they play an enormous role.

We are incredibly proud to see Shelley’s contribution recognised. She is an integral part of the fabric, growth and success of Mackrell Building. 🙌

All ready for the New Horizons 40th Anniversary Gala. The not-for-profit organisation provides inclusive sport, recreation and social activities for people living with disability. My husband’s brother has lived with cerebral palsy since birth and what New Horizons does is amazing. Congratulations to Belinda Kitto and all her team. Looking forward to a wonderful night. A rainy family adventure this morning at one of our city’s most spectacular natural wonders, the iconic Cataract Gorge. 🌿🌧️

The perfect adventure for our little wildlife warrior, who was on the lookout for everything that moved! 🦚🦘 We spotted plenty of beautiful peacocks, wallabies and, of course, a few turbo chooks along the way.

The rain certainly didn’t dampen the fun… although when the heavens really opened, it turned into a very entertaining family sprint back to the car! 😂☔️

Sometimes the best adventures are the simple ones, exploring our own backyard, getting a little wet and making memories together. ❤️
