A Melbourne maritime icon: the Malcolm Moore crane. Built in 1942, it was initially sent to Sydney to assist the Royal Navy during the WWII before returning to Seafarers in 1946, where it transformed manual cargo handling for decades.
Today, this last remaining electric crane from the pre-container era watches over a transformed riverfront.
Where ships once docked, you'll soon find the ground floor hospitality precinct of 1 Hotel & Homes Melbourne - the city's most anticipated sustainable luxury precinct.
A new chapter in Melbourne's riverfront story begins in 2025.
