Thanks for the shout out YV sheds.

A quick heads up if you are planning a shed, barn, carport or garage.

In many cases, a building permit is required for structures over 10m². And depending on your site and what you are building, you may even need a permit for something under 10m².

The good news is you do not have to figure it out alone.

They are practical and very knowledgeable.

Had a chat with a client of at least 8 years the other day. They had no idea that we do structural engineering.

So, for those unaware.

If i have not told you before now, I'm now telling you....large areas of Melbourne are presenting with saturated soils.

This brings with it challenges when building. If your soil test was completed only 3 months ago, there is a fair chance the saturation we are seeing wasnt there.

Have the chat with your builder, engineer and geotech if your build is starting now.

Be ready, be prepared.

New house, new estate, extensions, tight access, upper extensions, footing exposures, new pools, decks, unit at rear, multi dwellings/units, large sheds, demolish and rebuild.
