There is SO much more to running holiday accommodation than sitting behind a phone, taking bookings and hoping everything runs smoothly!

Behind every beautiful property, every five-star review and every happy guest is an enormous amount of work that most people never see.

Here at FCG BnB Services Sunraysia, we take care of EVERYTHING!

📱 Guest communication, enquiries and last-minute requests, often 24/7

🧹 Cleaning, linen and preparing properties to a five-star standard

🔧 Maintenance, repairs and unexpected emergencies

🌿 Lawns, gardens and outdoor presentation

💰 Pricing, calendars and maximising bookings for our owners

🛏️ Coordinating changeovers, sometimes across 20+ properties in a single day!

🚗 Running from property to property making sure everything is just right before the next guest arrives.

And that’s only scratching the surface!

Some days we’re cleaners, other days we’re gardeners, maintenance coordinators, problem solvers, customer service representatives and everything in between. Most days, we’re all of them at once! 😂

Managing holiday accommodation isn’t just a matter of handing over keys. It’s a hands-on, seven-day-a-week operation that takes dedication, organisation, hard work and a fantastic team.

With around 50+ properties under our care across the Sunraysia region, there is never a dull moment!

We take enormous pride in what we do, because when an owner trusts us with their investment, we treat it like our own.

6pm, our last changeover is done, and my little workmate Rex and I are finally heading home! ❤️

Rex is 9 months old today and has been coming to work with us since he was just 6 weeks old. I’m so lucky he’s such a happy, easygoing baby, although I guess he doesn’t have much choice in this industry! 😂

The past two months have been our busiest EVER! Between events, weddings, school holidays and visitors flocking to our beautiful region, Sunraysia has been buzzing! 🙌

After dropping my other three kids at school this morning, Rex and I joined our team for another huge day.

16 changeovers today and 25 check-ins this weekend! With the Goanna Run in Mildura and several weddings, it’s all hands on deck!

What people don’t always see is the work that goes on behind the scenes. My husband Nick, our amazing team and I work tirelessly to have every home guest-ready and presented to a five-star standard. We’re not always perfect, but we give it everything we’ve got, and we’re proud to have held Airbnb Superhost status for almost five years straight! ⭐️

On our busiest days, we can turn over 20+ homes, and when things slow down, there’s deep cleaning, gardens and maintenance to catch up on. Until May, we were even washing all our own linen before teaming up with the wonderful Thompson Linen!

It’s early mornings, late nights, weekends, our kids growing up alongside the business, and a phone that never really stops ringing. This industry is 24/7, even when we get home.

I’m not complaining. I genuinely love what we’ve built and couldn’t be prouder of our team. ❤️

But next time you walk into your holiday accommodation, take a moment to appreciate the work that’s gone into making it beautiful for your arrival. Behind every freshly made bed and sparkling clean home are people working incredibly hard to make your stay special.

Last week, we were lucky enough to be invited to Sydney as one of the Top 300 Hosts across Australia & New Zealand.

It was an incredible day filled with learning, new industry insights and trends, and the opportunity to network with other professionals from across the short-stay accommodation industry.

We came away with plenty of fresh ideas, new systems and strategies that we’re excited to implement within our own business as we continue to grow and improve the experience we provide for both our property owners and guests.

Running a short-stay management business is constantly evolving, and opportunities like this are invaluable in helping us stay ahead of industry changes and continue raising the standard of what we offer here in Sunraysia.
