🌟 LAST WEEK AT NUCARE 🌟

Hi Families,

We’ve had another fantastic and action-packed week across our CAP programs!

We started on Monday back in the gym with PT Josh 💪 Each participant worked on their individualised programs, designed specifically to support their personal goals—whether that’s building strength for sport, improving mobility, or enhancing overall health and wellbeing. These sessions are so important for developing independence, confidence, and physical skills in a supportive environment.

On Tuesday, we visited Landsdale Farm (City of Wanneroo) This was a wonderful opportunity to connect with animals and nature, supporting skill development through hands-on experiences, encouraging independence in a community setting, and building social connections as participants explored together.

Wednesday brought plenty of excitement with go karting! This activity supported confidence, coordination, and decision-making skills, while also encouraging social interaction and shared enjoyment.

On Thursday, we enjoyed Easter hunt and craft activities. Participants engaged in creative expression, problem-solving, and teamwork, while building friendships and having fun celebrating together.

We also continued with cooking and gardening throughout the week. These activities are fantastic for building independence in daily living, developing practical life skills, and encouraging teamwork and social connection.

To finish the week, Friday was People’s Choice, giving participants the opportunity to make decisions about their day, supporting independence, confidence, and group connection.

It’s been a week full of growth, learning, and fun—we’re so proud of everyone!

⭐ LAST WEEK AT NUCARE ⭐

Hi Families,

We had a lovely week at NuCare filled with connection, creativity, and getting out in the community 😊

Monday and Friday were spent in the gym with PT Josh 💪 Everyone worked on their individual programs, building strength, confidence, and overall wellbeing in a supportive environment.

On Tuesday, the group enjoyed a beautiful day at Kings Park 🌿 We went for a nature walk, collected materials, shared a picnic, and later created collages together. This was a great way to encourage creativity, teamwork, and independence.

Wednesday was full of fun with a bowling trip 🎳 followed by a spontaneous visit to the beach to feed the birds 🐦 A great day for social connection, confidence building, and enjoying time together.

On Thursday, we visited the Art Gallery of WA exploring different artworks and sharing conversations, supporting creativity and community engagement.

Throughout the week, activities supported skill development, independence in daily living, and building friendships within the community.
It was great to see everyone getting involved, trying new things, and enjoying time together.

Our groups had a fantastic week out and about in the community.

We ventured to Scarborough Beach and Pool, where everyone enjoyed the beautiful scenery and a refreshing swim. We also headed to Zone Bowling in Cannington for some friendly competition and lots of laughs. The group explored the WA Maritime Museum, followed by a relaxing picnic at Esplanade Park in Fremantle, and continued working towards their health and wellbeing goals during PT sessions with Josh.

Our 1:1 supports were just as busy. Participants enjoyed cooking sessions with Chef Connor, developed their handy skills at Building Futures, explored local street art, and spent some relaxing time getting creative with colouring in building confidence, independence and creativity along the way.

In the kitchen, our clients got hands on preparing a variety of delicious meals including mac and cheese, garden salad, bread and butter pudding, quiches, carbonara, banana splits and special fried rice. Through these cooking sessions, participants practiced important life skills such as following recipes, measuring ingredients, food preparation and knife skills, kitchen safety and hygiene, teamwork, time management and cleaning up after themselves. These sessions not only build independence but also confidence in planning and preparing meals at home.

The team explored Cube Town, bounced around at Bounce, and marveled at the Titanic Exhibition 🚢. These outings give our clients opportunities to build confidence, social skills, and independence in a supportive environment.

We’re also focusing on literacy and personal development. Some of our clients have expressed a desire to improve their reading skills, so we’ve been creating a collaborative learning environment 📚. Using palm cards, interactive games, and story reading sessions, everyone has been supporting each other while making learning fun. This hands on approach not only builds practical skills but also fosters teamwork, patience, and self confidence.

And we couldn’t let the week go by without celebrating one of our fabulous chefs, Emma, for her birthday 🎉🎂! It was wonderful to share in her special day and show our appreciation for all the delicious meals she prepares.

At NuCare, we believe life skills are more than just tasks they’re opportunities to empower, connect, and grow together. 🌈

Summer Escape camp in Mandurah with another great couple of days. Yesterday the group enjoys a fun morning at the pool before a staff shift change in the afternoon, with Rhys joining the group for the remainder of camp. We also take the time to say a big thank you to Connor for such an amazing first three days at camp. The afternoon is spent playing cricket and practicing important life skills in the kitchen, where they make some yummy tacos for dinner.
Today we check out of our accommodation and head off to find another Mandurah giant, before enjoying lunch on the foreshore and then making our way back to Perth. It is a relaxed and enjoyable way to finish off such a great week, full of fun, learning, and new experiences.
