On a recent vessel inspection in New Zealand it was interesting to learn about the history of the time ball and how it was used by ships captains to check their chronometer. The service started in 1867 and continued to be used until 1910 where its original function was discontinued but remained as a way to warn local fisherman of high sea outside the heads.

Wishing pilot vessel BERKLEY a safe voyage to her new home in N.Z, loaded onto a ship Good Friday morning in the port of Fremantle.
Adapt Marine completed a pre-purchase inspection on behalf of new owner's and provided support as owner's representative to complete some vessel R&M, prep for biofouling/survey requirements and freight/logistics for entry into N.Z.

Nice to be able to mix work with pleasure. Recent trip to Cervantes completing the transitional surveys on Condor putting her back into 3B commercial survey and some quality time away with the family exploring the coast.

Nice variety of commercial and recreational vessels this week between Busselton, Jurien Bay and Fremantle. WA coastline, one of the best!! Finished the week off with a feed of crays and a couple of frothies!!
