While I normally talk to the media about the Perth property market, it was a pleasure to be on the other side of the conversation and be profiled by reiwa.com.

I got to share my real estate journey, from starting out as a receptionist to the experiences that have shaped my career to date, and why industry advocacy remains such an important passion of mine.

Thank you to REIWA for the opportunity to reflect on my 20+ years in property management – I'm not sure where that time has gone.

One of the biggest challenges Clare sees for the industry is attracting and keeping people in real estate, particularly in property management.

It was lots of fun MC'ing the commercial property breakout session at this year's REIWA Connect Event. We had two insightful sessions: the first featured guest speaker Andy Reid, followed by a panel discussion on the future of commercial property in Perth, with Craig Hollett, Vaughan Copping, Jim Tsagalis, Anna Valentine and Luke Randazzo, facilitated by Andrew Graham.

The depth of knowledge and experience in that room was something else.
Beyond the commercial sessions, the event once again proved why it's one of the best real estate conferences in WA. The full day delivered insights across the industry, with strong themes around market resilience, evolving trends, and what it takes to perform at a high level.

Thanks to .com for the opportunity to be involved and to be surrounded by such a driven and engaged group of professionals. The conversations, connections, and energy throughout the day were exceptional.

With WA’s new bond reforms now in effect, what does this mean for property investors? πŸ“Š

I recently wrote an article for Your Investment Property breaking down the changes, including why investors are now on the clock with new response timeframes.

Western Australia’s new bond disposal process was touted as a simpler, easier system, but for Perth property investors the new rules come with tighter deadlines and new risks.

Big changes could be coming for WA rental laws, with reports suggesting a possible ban on no-grounds terminations. This could have a significant impact on investors, property managers, and rental supply.

With the market already under pressure, it’s more important than ever to stay informed and have your voice heard. If you have concerns or questions about what this means for your investment, don’t hesitate to reach out.

With WA’s population tipped to grow by 500,000 people in the next 7 years, what does that mean for housing demand and are we prepared for it? πŸ“Š

I recently wrote an article about this shift for Your Investment Property, detailing the implications for investors and the Perth housing market.

WA is set to add nearly 500,000 new residents to its population over the next 7 years. What does this mean for property investors and the state's housing supply?

πŸ“‹βœ¨ A productive day at the Property Management Network Committee meeting. Coral and I joined discussions on the new legislation coming into effect in 2026 and what these changes could mean for our industry moving forward.

With Perth rents rising about 90% in 5 years, is the market overheated, or are higher rents the new normal? πŸ“Š

I recently wrote an article about this shift for Your Investment Property, and the answer might surprise you!

With Perth rental prices rising by around 90% over the past five years, it’s fair to ask whether the market has become overinflated, or whether higher rents are simply the new normal.

✨ I had a wonderful time at the REIWA PM Christmas Breakfast πŸŽ„ It was such a pleasure hearing inspiring words from REIWA Property Management Network Committee Chair Esther Nilson, Tim Lane, REIWA Policy & Advocacy Officer on the current issues, market trends and the pending legislation changes and Magistrate Trevor Darge's delivery on providing insightful information on court proceedings from the judicial perspective, was next to none.

We also heard from Sharon, a success story from the Salvo’s Beacon programme, turning her life around from a victim of domestic violence. We finished with Joseph Shannon from The Efficiency Co, giving guidance on goal setting to head into 2026. Thank you reiwa.com and the Events team for an outstanding end to the year.

Still buzzing from the REIWA Christmas Cocktail Party at The Kingsman! The retro diner vibes, the music, and the festive energy made it the perfect way to end the year. Huge thanks to reiwa.com for putting together such an awesome event. πŸŽ„βœ¨

With Perth property prices jumping another 1.9% in October, it was timely to hear some crystal balling for what's in store for 2026 at last week's UDIA WA Industry Luncheon. πŸ“ˆ

Keynote speaker and renowned independent economist Saul Eslake covered a range of topics, but some main takeaways included:

βœ… WA's economy continues to outperform the national economy on most indicators.
βœ… Net new housing supply is falling short of what's required to meet the Government's targets, however...
βœ… WA is doing better than most states and territories in meeting those housing supply targets.
βœ… Inevitably, housing supply responds slowly to increases in demand.
βœ… One factor that may have a big impact on the housing market balance in WA is whether average occupancy rates remain elevated.
βœ… UDIA's own index suggests that WA's market is in better balance than that of any other state.

πŸ™Œ Thanks to UDIA for a great event!
