Perth’s housing shortage isn’t just about demand; it’s also about how quickly new homes can move through the approval process.
In a recent feature in The West Australian, Limnios Property Group Managing Director James Limnios raised concerns about lengthy development approval timeframes, increasing compliance requirements and the impact these delays can have on housing supply and project costs.
With Perth under pressure to deliver its share of the National Housing Accord target, James also outlined several measures he believes could help encourage more rental and infill housing, including reducing unnecessary development costs, reviewing planning processes and creating stronger incentives for property investors.
