10 years ago today, I was a 19-year-old kid, with little idea of the journey that lay ahead. My only work experience was a casual gig behind the checkout at Woolies, but there I was, suited up in my best Tarocash suit and yellow-and-white tie, ready to start my first day in real estate—a role that, even then, felt like the beginning of something meaningful.
After two and a half formative years with Ray White, I felt the pull to grow. I joined McGrath Estate Agents, then Australia’s leading prestige agency, and helped open the Sandringham office, led by the exceptional Mark Zammit and Fran Harkin. It was a move that gave me the direction I was looking for and a new level of commitment to the industry.
2018 was a turning point. I found myself struggling—broke, unmotivated, and unsure if I still had a place in this business. I was ready to walk away, like so many others have before. Then Mark Zammit took me on a very long walk along the beach and gave me the wake-up call I needed. I owe him the next chapter of my career, a debt I don’t take lightly.
Then in 2021, in the midst of a global pandemic, McGrath Sandringham merged with Belle Property Sandringham, and I became part of the remarkable team I’m proud to call home today. Under the guidance of Mark Zammit, Fran Harkin, Jenny Dwyer, and Steve Tickell—and with the camaraderie of my teammates—I’m honored to have achieved my best year yet, standing among the top 10 agents in the state.
But my deepest gratitude is to those who’ve trusted me with the keys to their homes. To everyone who took a chance on a young kid and welcomed him into their lives, their homes and their journey. Your support has meant everything to me. Many of these clients have become friends, each one an essential part of my story.
10 years. A decade in—and I’m still excited and proud to be a real estate agent.
