RBA hikes again: spring market set to cool

Today, the RBA increased the official cash rate by 25 basis points to 4.60%, adding to mortgage repayments and reducing borrowing capacity. The housing market was already slowing. Cotality reported national dwelling values fell 0.9% in August, while total listings were 17.6% higher than a year ago. Buyers will become more selective and some may reduce their budgets or delay their plans. Sellers will need to meet the market, set realistic expectations and ensure their property stands out from the competition.
