Introducing, the Urban Logistics Co. Artist Series – Volume 1.

We’ve partnered with emerging Australian artist .herczeg to breathe new life into our industrial estate at Rockdale.

A proud Kuku Yalanji and Hungarian artist living on Gadigal lands, Tiarna Herczeg (she/them) is known for their painting as a reflection of their spirituality and cultural identity.

Featured at the entrance of our South Sydney estate, the large-scale artwork by Herczeg is 8 metres high and over 25 metres long, totalling an impressive 200 square metres.

The work incorporates two artistic styles unique to Herczeg which seeks to celebrate Country, as well as forming a creative environment with our occupants and increasing community engagement with public art.

Thank you to our partners, Tiarna Herczeg and

In just a few weeks, has made significant progress at Altona Circuit.

The cross laminated timber (CLT) and glued laminated timber (glulam) panels have been installed to the office spaces in Warehouses 4 and 5, with all cladding and roofing also installed in these warehouses. Externally, the concrete access track works have now commenced.

Upon completion, the existing 39,000m² building will be transformed into a 52,300m² facility containing 7 tenancies between 5,000m²-16,000m², each with a dedicated office space and amenities.

Our Australian-grown cross laminated timber (CLT) and glued laminated timber (glulam) products from XLam have arrived on site and are set to be installed at Altona Circuit this week.

The lifecycle of the timber is carefully considered with respect to its CO2 footprint. The radiata pine is grown in PEFC certified, sustainably managed plantations, whilst the manufacturing plant in Wodonga is powered using green electricity.

Designed in partnership with Matthew Woodward Architecture and installed by Vaughan Constructions, we can’t wait to see the concept come to life at Altona Circuit.

We are pleased to share that we've recently received development approval for our newest development in West Melbourne.

The office and warehouse development located off Sunshine Road in Tottenham will include 5 units with sizes ranging from 1,150 sqm to 1,850 sqm.

Maintaining our commitment to ESG and design, the state of the art facility will achieve a 5 star green star rating. The development will incorporate a range of measures including offices constructed of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), 120kW rooftop solar photovoltaic system, electric vehicle and bike charging stations, end of trip facilities, rainwater harvesting system for toilet flushing and irrigation, and responsibly specified finishes, fixtures and appliances.

The units are expected to be completed in 2024.

We're pleased to announce our partnership with Ark Resources to support us in our commitment to a sustainable future.

Together, we've undertaken an ecology study looking at the current diversity of vegetation across each of our assets to help us establish a set of strategies that will improve ecology across our national logistics portfolio. The program will look to increase the biodiversity of flora and habitat for fauna, increase carbon sequestration and lower carbon emissions, reduce heat island effect, and improve stormwater outcomes.

We look forward to finalising our targets and implementing the program this year.

The cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels we have adopted for our new developments are manufactured in Wodonga using Australian-grown, PEFC certified, plantation radiata pine timber milled to strict CO2 specifications. CLT is the most sustainable building material to replace CO2 intensive steel and concrete alternatives, meaning we're able to maximise the efficient use of our planet’s resources.

An insight into how limited industrial supply in inner urban markets is fuelling demand for last mile logistics.

There continues to be a large structural imbalance between available warehouse space and users needing to occupy space.

Thank you to Ralph Nicholson at The Urban Developer for the feature.

Sydney-based Urban Logistics Co has quietly lodged a development application to tear down the former Visy packaging facility and build 23 units across five warehouses on the 7.5-km site about 20km north of Melbourne, adding to a billion-dollar last-mile logistics pipeline.
