todays weather update: Hoping that we only have rain from this one and the cyclone doesnt come near us. Keep an eye out here for updates.

The tropical low in the Coral Sea is intensifying and slowly moving West. A low level circulation centre that was exposed is now under that convection max on water vapour satellite. We expect tropical cyclone Kirrily within 24-48hrs. Yes QLD is at significant risk of a severe category 3 to 5 impact from Thursday. BUT right now we will not speculate exactly where just yet. Plenty of time for track changes....This cyclone could also bring big flooding to Central & South East QLD depending its land track.

Please everyone stay at home unless you are going to wrok. We have more rain to come.
Especially the boys out at Dimbulah who are cut off by the river. If you need anything especially food call me.

Tropical Low 05U - Soon to be Tropical Cyclone KIRRILY ( KIER-UH-LEE ) 🌀
Below is a direct copy and paste from the BOM in the text
which shows a 50/50 split of members that bring Kirrily ashore between Mackay and Cairns as a Severe Tropical Cyclone, and the other 50% have her heading SE to the graveyard.
Again, Below is an extract copy and pasted from the BOM.
⚠️Potential tropical cyclone impact on Queensland coast from mid next week
⚠️A tropical low is developing in the Coral Sea, well away from the Queensland coast.
⚠️The tropical low will strengthen during the weekend, and become a tropical cyclone by late Sunday or Monday.
⚠️The low will initially be slow moving then move on a general southerly or south southwesterly track from Sunday to Tuesday. Its movement then becomes uncertain but more likely to come towards the coast.
⚠️There is a significant risk that this system may impact the Queensland coast from later Tuesday onwards next week. A severe impact is possible.
⚠️Communities on the east coast of Queensland are advised to stay up to date with forecasts and warnings.

hello everyone
seems we are in for a bit more rain again.
Please remember to not drive in flooded roads. IF there is water over the road make sure that you are not in danger DO NOT drive through it.
If you look like you may be cut off please let me know so that i can orgainse some food for you.
Especially boys at Dimbulah farms i will shop for you as the water over the bridge rises very quickly and you might get stuck on the other side.
Always remember to keep in touch with me so i can help.
Stay safe.

Merry Christmas to everyone and thank you for all your hard work. It has been a difficult time lately with the weather....

Hello everyone,
the weather is finally clearing and everyone should be back to work today or tomorrow.
If anyone is not working tomorrow please let me know asap as i may have a day or 2 available on a farm.

Good Morning everyone,
another wet day ahead.
Tolga is currently without power due to a tree falling on the power line between Tolga and Atherton. Please do not drive through this road there will be a detour around if you need to go to Atherton for anything.

We are expecting more heavy rain today so unless you need to go to work please stay home.

Some shops are open if you need to top up on food. Drive slowly and with your lights on.

Awaiting updates from Hosts for a return to work.
Please get in touch with either Sarah or myself if you need anything.
Stay safe.
thanks
Kristen

Good Morning everyone,
Hope you all stayed safe.
Overnight we have had quite a bit of wind and rain so please do not go driving around today unless you are required to attend work. More heavy rain is expected today and hoping everyone is back to work tomorrow but we will monitor this with your Host.

Power is still out in some places, Ergon is working on restoring power but this could take some time. please let either Sarah or myself know if you have no power.

Take care and stay safe.

Morning everyone,
hope you are safe and well.
For the coast guys, you should be getting a bit of rain and wind now but this should pass by tonight with a bit of luck.

For our tablelands boys, stay home and this afternoon we will start to see the rain and wind going into tonight.

Please don't go outside later this afternoon as we are in for a bit of a ride.

Stay safe and contact if you need anything.

Nothing is open.

Thanks
kristen
