This is my red Pierre de ronsard rose. I have only seen the pink before but love the swathe of blooms on this one. We have a garden of weeds to deal with, but this beauty has blossomed with neglect.

Our poor darling project home has been on hold for almost a year now. With the dry weather much of the garden stopped looking loved, but with the recent rain and a sniff of spring in the air it still brings us great joy.

Happy new year all! We miss posting about the updates we are doing here at Wallaroo but we are grateful for the comfort of a solid home and a comfortable bed at the end of long days in Moonta.

We have been too busy lately to do anything but sleep at our Wallaroo home but ever thankful for comfortable beds and the absolute quiet of the thick stone walls! If you want to see what we have been doing, check out The Provincial Rabbit where Andy, Lauren and I (and a band of much appreciated helpers) have turned an unloved (well I think it was loved but tired) 1867 Bank building into a welcoming cafe and lifestyle store with an eclectic mix of surprises inside. And our newly listed Airbnb The Managers Residence on George is about to welcome its first guests. We are definitely looking forward to the good old days where we only had one 1860s stone building to renovate, and getting back to the glass house build.

Look at this beautiful mosaic I picked up at the auctions this week. I wish it was my own work but will be proud to hang this anywhere. That’s the problem - do I put this in the new Moonta shop garden or here at Kirribilli or keep it in Adelaide. It’s inspirational and a huge piece.

I was enjoying my blue magic tea tonic tea last night and loving all my vintage brooches. I’m determined to make brooches a thing again! They do look great on a jacket or scarfe or I even use some on scarves to tie back the curtains. Do you have a favorite?
