For the week of 30 March to 5 April, the state recorded a 48 percent clearance rate, based on 156 reported auction results (data sourced from realestate.com.au).

Here’s the breakdown:
• 51 sold at auction
• 24 sold prior or after auction
• 67 passed in
• 14 withdrawn

A total of 169 auctions were scheduled, while private treaty sales remained steady with 979 transactions recorded outside the auction market.

What does this mean?

Buyer demand is still there, but confidence is shifting. With more properties passing in, pricing and presentation are playing an even bigger role in achieving strong results.

A total of 304 auctions were scheduled, while private treaty sales remained strong with 1,239 transactions recorded outside the auction environment.
