We’re so lucky to call this beautiful corner of the Wollombi Valley home.
As neighbours of Mystwood, it is nice to be reminded that this landscape holds so much more than breathtaking views - it carries generations of stories, history, resilience and connection to the land. How blessed we are to be part of a valley so rich in beauty and heritage. 🤎🌿

🖤 Spotted quolls have absolutely no business being this cute.

Living alongside spotted quolls is a daily reminder that nature has a wicked sense of humour.

These tiny little forest gremlins with their weird terrifying screeches, razor-sharp claws and zero hesitation in murdering creatures great and small… somehow evolved to look like they just want a cuddle and a tummy scratch 🐾

(Note: Not our picture. Turns out natures cutest little psychopaths are hard to catch on camera!! 📸🫣)

Got down to -0° this morning so apparently the snakes are all “sleeping” 🐍😴

This giant black snake we met on our adventures apparently missed the memo.

He was awake.
He was enormous.
And he seemed personally offended by our existence. 😂

Another day, another new fear unlocked!!

Found the most wonderful place to sit today, perched above a deep green gully, overlooking lush ferns and dense sarsaparilla 😍

Sarsaparilla has long been known as a traditional bush medicine plant, and there is something truly special about being surrounded by it here. The feeling in this little pocket of the valley is difficult to put into words- peaceful, grounding, and deeply restorative 🧘🏽‍♀️

Sitting amongst these healing plants, I can’t help but feel that healing has been happening here for a very, very long time. 🌿✨

🎺 The Hairy Trumpet Mushroom 🎺

Whoever named mushrooms around here must have had the most entertaining job on earth… 🤣

“Hairy Trumpet” was apparently a perfectly sensible name for this little oddity, and honestly, we’re grateful they committed to the bit.

Just another weird and wonderful day out here living the dream ☀️🌈

Blamed the lack of rain, the rocky landscape, the shade of the trees.. but it turns out the lawn is struggling to grow because these chunky bush bulldozers LOVE buffalo 😂🐻

Yes, I speak to the wombats. Don't mind me 🤣🥰

Obi (the wolfhound) can't quite understand why they don't want to play with him. Meanwhile, I'm reminding the dog not to take it personally, as they don't appear to like my company either! 😂
