For years, I was lucky enough to be home raising my kids. When I started my real estate career, I promised myself I wouldn’t lose sight of what mattered most. I truly believe you can work hard, give your clients your all, and still make time for the people you love.
For nearly nine years, my husband has spent six months of the year lobster fishing on Grand Manan. During those years, the kids and I would make the trip whenever we could, staying in Airbnbs and counting down the days until our next visit.
Last year, we finally took the leap and built our dream cottage here. It’s become our happy place and already holds some of our favourite family memories.
Also a year ago today, we took another leap and became part owners of Grand Manan Brewing Co. with an incredible group of friends. We are on tap not only here on the Island but if you are in NB, you can find us at a bunch of different locations! 🍻
It’s hard to believe how much life can change in just one year.
When I took my real estate course and wrote my exam, this wasn’t part of the plan. But when life gives you the opportunity to build a business while making memories with your family, you take it.
So while I’m spending more time in New Brunswick this summer, my commitment to my clients in Nova Scotia hasn’t changed one bit. If you’re thinking about listing your home, buying, or just have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’ll happily make the trip back whenever needed—my clients have always come first, and that won’t change. Then come September, I’ll be back full-time and ready to hit the ground running.
At the end of the day, no one looks back wishing they had worked more. I’m grateful for a career that lets me build a business I’m proud of while making memories with the people I love.
