One of Norfolk’s favourite fall traditions is just around the corner!

The Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show returns to Simcoe from October 6–12, 2026, with seven days of agriculture, entertainment, competitions, animals, food, midway rides, motorsports, live music and community fun.

This tradition has deep roots in Norfolk County. The Norfolk County Agricultural Society was established in 1840, with the first annual agricultural show held in Simcoe in 1852. What began as an agricultural exhibition has grown into one of Ontario’s major agricultural fairs, while continuing to celebrate the community and traditions that started it all.

WHY NORFOLK? | PART 7 — LONG POINT 🌿🌊

There’s something special about Long Point. It's one of my favourite spots here in Norfolk.

Maybe it’s the drive with the windows down and the lake waiting at the end. Maybe it’s the sandy beaches, cottages tucked among the trees, boats out on the bay, or the feeling that summer lasts just a little longer here.

Long Point has plenty to offer those looking for adventure. Explore the shoreline, get out on the water, go fishing, paddle, camp, cycle, or find a quiet spot to watch the sunset. It’s also a special place for nature lovers. The dunes, marshes, forests and shoreline provide an incredible habitat for wildlife, with hundreds of bird species passing through during migration. 🐦

The cottages and homes here hold generations of memories. Weekend getaways, family traditions, barefoot summers, kids growing up by the water, and those little corners of Norfolk that make you think, I could stay here.

Long Point is also rich in history. Long Point Provincial Park dates back to 1921, making it one of Ontario’s oldest provincial parks. The peninsula’s maritime history goes back even further, with the iconic Long Point Lighthouse watching over Lake Erie since the first lighthouse was lit in 1830.

What I love most is that Long Point lets you create your own kind of adventure.
