Happy September! ☀️ Not sure about you, but despite the date, it’s still summer in my books. I’m going to soak up every last bit of the sun and heat before the kids head back to school next week! (Who else is with me? 🙋♀️)
As is pretty typical for August, real estate slowed, with sales across the areas I focus on noticeably lower than July.
Right now, I’d describe our market as fairly balanced, with a bit of a lean toward buyers. There’s still good choice out there, buyers often have a little more room to negotiate or include conditions, and homes are generally taking longer to sell. That said, well-priced homes in good locations can still move quickly (as you can see by days on market averages). Prices have remained relatively stable.
We typically start to see more inventory hit the market after Labour Day, particularly as we get into the middle of September and the fall market gets underway.
So if a fall move has been somewhere in the back of your mind, now is a really good time to start talking about it and thinking through your options.
