GOOD DAY EVERYONE
I get asked the most frequently asked question in Real Estate, "How is the Real Estate market?"🏘🏢
If you live in Alberta, answering this question in the most positive way has been challenging. Why? Because for the past 6 years, our real estate market performed poorly when compared to other regions in the country.
🏗🛒
While slow real estate market brought some challenges for home sellers, two BIG factors also hurt buyers in Alberta.

1) The federal government introduced new rules which made it difficult for home buyers to qualify for bigger mortgage loans.

2)The Alberta economy which relies on oil has been hit hard for the past 6 years, resulting in high unemployment.

When people lose jobs, they can't afford to buy homes. Even those who have jobs don't have full confidence to take on mortgages because they worry they might lose their jobs.

What does this mean for you as a home seller?

There are more homes on the market, creating more competitions
If your house is not strategically presented to potential buyers, it may take long time to sell or it may not sell.

The Calgary Real Estate Board just released its 2020 forecast report.📊📋

The report reviewed the 2019 housing market and employment conditions and predicted what might happen in 2020.

According to the report, employment will improve slightly in 2020

The housing sales will improve in 2020. For example, in 2019 homes sales was up when compared to 2018 and 2020 is forecasted to be a better year than the previous

The predicted benchmark price for a typical property will go up in 2020.👍👍
