East Village Neighbourhood Association The East Village Neighbourhood Association (EVNA) was formed in 2011 to make the East Village a healthy, safe and vibrant place in the heart of Calgary.

Calgary was founded in the East Village area – more specifically at the confluence of the Bow and Elbow rivers in 1875. The East Village Neighbourhood Association (EV-NA) was formed in 2011 to make Downtown East Village a healthy, save, vibrant place in the heart of Calgary and is incorporated under the Societies Act. As a neighbourhood association

, EV-NA champions the development of Downtown East Village as a thriving neighbourhood community. It works in partnership with a wide range of public and voluntary sector agencies to improve services and facilities for local people. Spanning 49 acres between Fort Calgary and the downtown business core, East Village resides at the heart of downtown Calgary. A desirable piece of real estate that achieves the highest ideals of “location, location, location.”

The boundaries of the Association are the geographical area comprising the municipality described and known as Downtown East Village generally bound on the north by Confluence Way; on the east by 6th Street SE; on the south by 9th Avenue SE; and on the west by 3rd Street SE. In 2006, city council approved the East Village Area Redevelopment Plan which aims to reshape East Village into the vibrant urban community it was over a century ago. Now home to 3,600 residents (mainly seniors) the redevelopment strategy is to expand the community to accommodate additional residences and business.

Thanks all for coming out Saturday to our 1st Garden & Pickleball mixer!

Lots of fun was had by all. We had live music, coffee&snacks, pickleball tournament, crafts, prizes, and lots more!

It was great to see East Village (and beyond) community members join in for the pickleball tournament, community building, and good vibes!

We’re already missing Canada Day at the East Village Street Fair! ❤

Looking back on an incredible day filled with community, local vendors, delicious food, live entertainment, family fun, and so many amazing memories made throughout East Village.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and celebrated with us, we loved seeing the streets filled with smiles, laughter, and Canadian pride.
