It’s true, we’re closer to September than farther away now.

And that means go-time for all things back to school, meal planning, and daily lunches.

The kid’s activities ramping up and getting back to usual daily routines.

But, when you live around here, it also means the start to one of the most extra special seasons of each year.

Fall here brings beautiful crisp mountain mornings and what feels like a hundred shades of changing red and golden leaves.

Some pretty incredible Larch season views.

And an awesome chance to get in all those end of season hikes and outdoor family adventures before the snow flies.

I absolutely love Summmer in the Alberta Rockies, but Fall will always be my favorite.🍂🍁

Sept 26/26 is the big day, my next 10km race in Banff.

And while it’s not my first rodeo, as they say…

This year I really want to improve my race day and training results, so I’m including a couple new strategies to hopefully help get me there.

And this time each year, I find, is always extra busy with work, back to school, kid’s activities ramping up, and all the rest.

Which means it can be tricky to nail down my schedule and focus when it comes to training and putting in all the time.

So each week I’m going to share my experience here and let you know how it’s all going.

This is definitely something outside of my usual comfort zone.

But, it’s good accountability.

And will be a big part of helping me cross that finish line this year with a new goal in my sights.

Growing and learning along the way, too.

So stick around, I’ll let you know how it all unfolds 🙌

The final wave of pandemic-era mortgages is now coming up for renewal. While more homeowners expect to manage the transition than they did a year ago, many are still feeling uncertain.⁠

Seriously though, where does all the time go?!

Feels like yesterday we were looking into M’s pre-Kindy year, and now we’re on the verge of kicking off his high school grad year.

Life definitely moves fast when you’re having fun.

Very blessed and so grateful for it all, and so excited to see what all the next chapters have in store🤍

A bit of July…

Not sure about you, but July seemed to fly right by here.

It seems to be that one month of each year that’s a sweet spot.

A time when you can take a small break together, chill, have some fun, and regroup after the craziness of the school year.

Kind of like that week between Christmas and New Years every year when not much happens except for family time.

Which, to me, is always the best 🤍

Hey there, I’m Tara!

If you’re new here, welcome to my page!

You can get to know a bit about me here ⬇️

Our young family made the big decision to upsize and relocate to Canmore from Edmonton in 2012.

Wasn’t too long after we moved that our family expanded, and I became a Mom x 2, to two busy, beautiful boys (both now teens), who are my whole world🤍

I’m a proudly born and raised Sasky, Gen X kid, who loves family, community & small town life, helping others, keeping busy, staying active, all things mountains, and the great outdoors.

(that, plus a good rock show every now and then too!)

I’m so grateful for my upbringing and experiences in Saskatchewan, and definitely still have a strong love and appreciation for all things 306 ( iykyk ) and prairie life.

But now, also really love living the mountain life in Canmore and Bow Valley area with my family, too❤️

I didn’t start out intending to work in real estate.

But after my growing up in Sask, and a couple of university degrees.

And a big life chapter working in human rights, human resources, labour & employee relations in the public and private sectors.

Plus, our move to the Bow Valley.

I’ve found my way to where I am today, and have worked in residential real estate ( in Alberta ) since 2018 (how’s it been almost 9 years ?!)

Now, I’m here sharing my journey and my passion for all things family life, the great outdoors, mountain life, community, and real estate (of course!) , while helping clients and families, a lot like my own, make those big moves and upsize their homes in the beautiful Bow Valley.

You’re definitely not wrong for thinking that upsizing wil take a good chunk of your time, work, and energy to see it through.

Because, the truth is…

It will.

Upsizing your family home and moving with kids, in general, DOES take a lot of time, energy, and work.

I know this well from my family’s own relocation and upsizing experience.
