I was a tourist in my own town yesterday! Thanks to the vendors at the farmers' market, who braved a rainstorm, I savoured a glass of local red paired with a slice of pecan pie by the fire last night. YUM

Oh the humanity ... follow Miss Airstream but have a tissue handy! Written from the POV of her trailer, this traveling nurse posts her glamping adventures. The sudden extreme heat of a deadly California wildfire shows us what she's made of! 💪❤️ You won't see this angle on the news.

sunday morning in sweet santa rosa...

the red cross is here at our rv park & helping all of our new trailer-neighbors. we keep thinking the evacuations will stop, that all of this will stop, but it hasn't. yesterday when mom walked into the hospital, she looked up towards the 4th floor windows, where she could see employees lined up staring at the smoke & fire rising in the east. that was the closest the fire had been to us since it started. prepared to help evacuate the hospital, if the time came, my nurse worked away, hoping she wouldn't hear that call come over the loud speaker.

it never did.

fire trucks, from all over, are still lined up by the hundreds. police cars, from all over, are lined up too. masks still cover the faces of our people. & smoke still fills our sky. the ash falls like snow & the sunshine hides.

the heartbreak here bonds us. & those bonds will heal us. & someday soon, sweet santa rosa's sun will shine.

it will shine, shine, shine...
