Guess what is happening...yes my sign is finally going up!!! My sign was done by Paul Archer (on the right) a muralist who has been coming to Grand Forks for a few years now and I was lucky to hire him.

They say you should post something on your page on a daily basis...but sometimes life gets in the way. I just received the most beautiful review and I would love to share it. My overall rating is 4.99% out of 5% and has been for three years...so many wonderful reviews and I am truly thankful.

Above the Trail Vacation Rental is just shy of celebrating three years in business and it has definitely met all my expectations. Years ago, when my husband and I were serving in the military my job in particular dealt on a daily basis with serving military members and engaging with the public. Meeting different people from all walks of life led me to considering with a passion I had of running a bed and breakfast. I collected all sorts of books about how to do it and couldn’t wait to retire!

Along the way, we settled on this small city of Grand Forks in beautiful British Columbia and decided to look for land to build on. The choice of a style of home didn’t quite fit in with running a bed and breakfast but did allow for a vacation rental… an all-inclusive stay, just pack your food and clothing and let me provide the rest.

Glance forward three years and I have had the pleasure of hosting 154 individuals and families; some have come back three and four times. I have received 147 reviews from these wonderful families and have maintained my Super Host status with a 4.99% our of 5% for these three years.

September 23rd marks my 3rd anniversary, thank you to all the new friends we have made along the way. Still going strong!

What do you do when you have your a lovely couple stay a night in your carriage house celebrating the first night of their honeymoon? Ch*****ne and chocolate covered strawberries of course!

It is hard for me to believe that I have been open for almost three years now. As a business owner, there are days when this old body's get up and go has gone out the door...but the opportunity to meet so many wonderful guests spurs me onward. This is what my carriage house looked like before and after the upper deck went on. My guests have commented to me that they love having morning coffee on the upper deck in this quiet neighbourhood and take in the scenery.

I haven't posted in a bit, but I am having such a wonderful, busy summer so far. I love welcoming back return guests and greeting new ones...people from all over North America and some from the UK. I will look forward to a break in the fall to recharge my batteries...this old gal isn't getting any younger...lol.
