Are we headed back to recession? Are we in it?

I talk to people around the country pretty regularly and according to most of them the reat of the country is feeling some pretty serious pain.

For the Grande Prairie region, 67 Drilling Licenses were issued in January. This is well below the 153 issued in 2023. Of those 67, 19 licenses were for oil, 48 for gas, and no other industry-related wells (brine, water, and waste). Of the 153 licenses issued in January 2023, 37 were for oil, 115 for gas, and 1 for other industry-related wells. Completions for 2024 were down 23% with 74 compared to 96 for the same period in 2023.
752 over-dimensional vehicles passed through the City last month, compared to 953 in January 2023. This is a 21% decrease year-over-year

I recently helped a friend find 540 000 dollars of trapped capital, they didn’t know they had.

My friend owned an asset and had the traditional financing set up, but as we were talking about investing, business and finance I helped them to quickly underwrite this property and see how much it had appreciated with the work they had done with it, and realize its actual value. I also gave them the tools and contacts to be able to get that capital out of the asset and into their hands.

We only know what we’ve been shown or taught, and until something new comes along this is our world. Most ideas aren’t new, they are just expanded upon by sharing information evolving and idea and creating something better.

I know what I know from being naturally curious, and collaborating with others to constantly talk about my interests.

Without mentoring, networking and spending my time with like minded individuals I would only know what I was taught in high school, trades school and passed down from my parents. Although there is a wealth of knowledge there, on the grand scale of what’s available it is next to nothing.

Because of a 30 minute coffee and a quick sharing of ideas my friend now has access to 540k to re invest into more assets that he wasn’t aware of only a short time ago.

Networking with people is one of the best things you can do.
