It’s been two and a half years since we last properly introduced ourselves, so we thought it was about time we did a little reintroduction.
We’re Sam and Chyna — the faces behind Mountain St. A-frame.
Our story started in Perth, Australia, in 2010, when we met while working and travelling. What followed was sporadically meeting back up across countries including New Zealand, England, Thailand, Portugal, and Greece, before eventually settling down together in Haliburton, Ontario.
Sam grew up in England but quickly made Haliburton home, while Chyna grew up locally, surrounded by the small-town community and the kind of familiar faces that make this place so special.
These days, life looks a little different. We’re raising our three hilarious, energetic, and beautiful kids — Olly, Jude, and Mabel — building a life in the community we love. After a remarkable ripple effect of a much longer story, we opened the doors to a little A-frame in the woods and began sharing our beloved town with all of you and have loved every moment.
Mountain St. A-frame has become a place to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy some of the things we love most ourselves: good coffee, long conversations, time outdoors, a sauna under the trees, and nowhere in particular you need to be.
What started as a new adventure has grown into something we’re incredibly proud to share with you, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has stayed, followed along, or supported this little dream of ours.
So, whether you’re new around here or have been following since the beginning, welcome. We’re so happy you’re here. 🤎
