Coffee break! Radio Arts’ residents can take a quick stroll down to Relay Coffee Roasters to re-fuel when the caffeine starts to dwindle.

Started by husband and wife, Relay has offered small batch, fair trade, organic coffee since 2008 and now has three locations in Hamilton (bonus!)

It’s safe to say that you’ll always be near some good coffee when you’re in need of a pick-me-up.

🍂 WELCOME FALL! Today is officially the first day of Fall 2022 and these striking orange leaves are making this beautiful building pop!

🗝 The Gartshore-Thomson Office Building was originally built around the turn of the 19th century by Alexander Gartshore and once had its own stunning view of Hamilton Bay when it stood on the southwest corner of Stuart and Caroline Streets. In 1992, the building was donated to the City of Hamilton by the Fracassi Family and is used today for meeting spaces and public washrooms.

🏞 Surrounding this building, Bayfront and Pier 4 Park stands. These parks also have historical aspects, with Bayfront Park once being a landfill until the City of Hamilton revived it, along with Pier 4 Park which was man-made!

🔎 Hamilton has so many historical facts and secrets to unfold and explore. A beautiful city full of life.

3 fun facts about Hamilton that you might not know (add to the list if you have any to contribute!)

1. Hamilton is home to one of the largest botanical gardens in Canada; The Royal Botanical Gardens consist of 980 hectares…that’s 9,800,000 square meters of land! You can spend the entire day exploring it with (most likely) not seeing the whole garden. 🪴

2. Hamilton has a known nickname – Steeltown! Hamilton is affectionately known as Steeltown thanks to its years of work in steel that built the city to what it is today.

3. Ring ring! Who’s there? 📞
Hamilton was answering the phone as early as 1878, when the first telephone exchange happened in Downtown Hamilton between Canada and the British Empire. This event led to the first public telephone being installed in the city in 1880, and since then, Hamilton has been ever evolving!

We can’t wait for Radio Arts to grow within this incredible city.
