Yes, we will inspect and rule out the type of vent fan you have and ensure it’s working or not.

However, that doesn’t rule out if it needs some routine maintenance. Overtime your kitchen fan will collect hoards of grease and oil build up which can lead to efficiency concerns or even fire risk potential.

It’s important to routinely clean your fan system. Something to address when taking ownership of your new or existing home.

In rural neighborhoods, most folks utilize a well pump pressure switch to power and maintain the water pressure in their plumbing system.

Often we will find the cover missing the securing fastener or the cover all together. Exposing the potential for electrical contact. This exposure is quite dangerous for anyone poking around this area.

Have a quick look and ensure yours is covered and secured. Consult with electrical contractor if unsure to address.

That time of the week.

Water heater’s. Next time you go to replace ( yes it seems like ten years flew by ), ensure a water heater pan is installed. Primary function - designed to collect water that may escape the water heater and prevent damage to flooring.

Plastic pans also provide corrosion resistance for electric water heaters as an added measure of protection for your unit.

Tech tip Tuesday’s.

An often overlooked maintenance item is the down spout terminations from our gutters. Full of organics or nearby ground material, damaged or broken and or even incomplete from the down spouts them selves.

This creates unnecessary water / moisture exposure to most likely the nearby building envelope or yard landscape.

Always ensure this down stream termination is complete and or cleaned free of debris to allow the water to be transferred away from the structure.
