Hodder Construction has been in business for 40 years and we are looking to expand our team.

We are currently seeking an experienced mechanic familiar with all types of engines – automotive; heavy duty machines -backhoes and excavators; small machines – packers, jumping jacks, just to name a few. Welding experience would be an asset, along with some knowledge of the construction trade.

Main duties, but not limited to, are as follows,

• Troubleshoot and diagnose problems
• Repair or replace parts, including fuel, brake, steering and suspension, hydraulics, transmissions, engines, electrical, cooling and climate control systems by using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment.
• Test repaired systems.
• Perform scheduled maintenance service such as oil changes, lubrications, tune-ups and tire changes.
• Follow safety procedures

Requirements
• Completion of a post-secondary course in automotive mechanics
• 6 years relevant experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly organized and motivated with a “fix-it right the first time” attitude
• Reliable, honest and ethical
• Valid BC Driver’s License

Residential/Commercial Painter

Hodder Construction is looking for a painter that can perform and coordinate the preparation and application of exterior and interior finishes in a residential and commercial setting.

We are looking for an individual with the following:
-Good attitude/team player
-Attention to detail
-Dependability

Job Duties
-Prepare and clean various surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, sandblasting or other means as necessary.
-Mix, match, and blend various paints, enamels, lacquers, varnishes, stains and special protective coatings to achieve desired color, consistency, and drying properties. Caulks, putties, cements or plasters holes and cracks.
-Paint using spay gun, brush or roller.
-Prepare wall and hang paper or other wall covering material.
-Determine proper materials and material quantities for new and existing projects.
-Drywall patching experience is an asset

Requirements
- Must have valid Driver's License
- Must have smart phone with internet access
- Minimum 2 years of related experience

Work conditions/Physical Capabilities:
-Standing for extended periods, walking, crouching, bending, kneeling, lifting(50lbs).
-Working from heights, dusty, noisy, hot, cold.

Hodder Construction has been in business for 40 years and we are looking to expand our team.

We are currently seeking an experienced autobody technician familiar with with all types/makes of vehicles. Mechanically inclined, welding experience and general painting skills would be an asset.

Main duties, but not limited to, are as follows,

Inspect vehicles for damages, and estimate repair costs before planning repair work

Repair and replace body, doors, frames, underbody, front and end frames.

Hammer out dents and other damaged body using blocks and hammers

Fill holes, dents, seams by using soldering equipment or filler

Make repaired surfaces smooth by filing, grinding, sanding

Repair and replace glass components

Repair or replace interior components including seat frames, carpets and floorboard insulation

Remove and replace damaged parts with various tools or weld replacement parts
Troubleshoot, dismantle and diagnose problems

Ability to work in a physical capacity including heavy lifting and using tools throughout the shift

Follow safety procedures

Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned or modified as necessary throughout the course of your employment.
