The Bank of Canada just made a big move! They slashed interest rates by half a percentage point today. This means borrowing money is now cheaper. The central bank’s interest rate is now 3.75%. This is the fourth time they’ve lowered rates in just a few months, and it’s the biggest cut they’ve made since the global financial crisis back in 2009, except for the COVID-19 pandemic.
