Truth is heavy,
but it must be carried.
It lives in the voices of Survivors,
in the stories once silenced,
in the names of children
who never came home.
Reconciliation is not a single act,
nor a day marked on the calendar.
It is listening when it is hard,
learning when it is uncomfortable,
and acting when it is easier to turn away.
It is a promise
to honour the truth,
to walk alongside Indigenous communities,
to heal what was broken
through respect, justice, and care.
On this day, and every day,
may we do more than remember.
May we take responsibility.
May we choose reconciliation.
Because every child matters.
